To introduce the idea of the seven spirits of God, look at the book of Revelation chapter 1, verse 4. It says "To the seven churches in the province of Asia: Grace and peace to you from Him who is, and who was and who is to come, and from the seven spirits before His throne, and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness,..." and in chapter 4 verse 5b, "Before the throne, seven lamps were blazing. These are the seven spirits of God."
The reference to the seven spirits are listed in Isaiah chapter 11, verse 1 "A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit. The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him— the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of power, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the LORD—."
The seven spirits of God are not as if they are seven independent spirits, as in seven Holy Spirits. Not at all, instead these seven spirits of God represent the seven distinctive gifts of God embodied in the Person of the Holy Spirit, meant to be given to the new creation and this is how and it is why we are a new creation. We are then "retrofitted" with the seven spirits of God and this is how you define the new creation.
