World Sports Competition is a sports video game developed by Hudson Soft for the PC-Engine in 1992 and released on the TurboGrafx-16 in 1993. It has also been released on the PlayStation Network in Japan and North America and on the Virtual Console in Europe and North America. Wii Sports Resort (Wii スポーツ リゾート, Wī Supōtsu Rizōto?) is a sports video game developed and published by Nintendo for the Wii video game console, and is the successor to Wii Sports. It is one of the first titles to require the Wii MotionPlus accessory, which was bundled with the game. Wii Sports Resort was first announced at E3 2008 and was released in Japan on June 25, 2009 and in nearly all other regions in the following month. While the game was originally released only as a stand-alone title, as of 2009 the game was bundled with newer Wii consoles, along with Wii Sports.

Wii Sports Club (Japanese: Wiiスポーツ クラブ, Hepburn: Wī Supōtsu Kurabu?) is a sports video game from Nintendo released as downloadable software for the Wii U. It consists of HD remakes of the individual sports from the 2006 Wii launch title, Wii Sports, which can be purchased individually or rented for a period of time. The first set of sports, bowling and tennis, were released in Japan on 30 October 2013, in Europe and North America on 7 November 2013, and in Australia and New Zealand on 8 November 2013. Golf was later released following a Nintendo Direct presentation on 18 December 2013. Baseball and Boxing was released at the end of June 2014.

Wii Sports (Wii スポーツ, Wī Supōtsu?) is a 2006 sports game developed and published by Nintendo as a launch title for the Wii video game console (and the first title for this console), and part of the Touch! Generations. The game was first released in North America along with the Wii on November 19, 2006, and was released in Japan, Australia, and Europe the following month. It was included as a pack-in game with the Wii console in all territories except Japan and South Korea, making it the first game included with the launch of a Nintendo system since Mario's Tennis for the Virtual Boy in 1995. Wii Sports is now available on its own as part of the Nintendo Selects collection of games and is no longer a pack-in game for the Wii.

Virtua Athlete 2K, known as Virtua Athlete 2000 in North America, is a Sega Dreamcast track and field sports game developed by Hit Maker and released in Japan on July 27, 2000 and in North America on September 13, 2000. Virtua Athlete 2K supports up to four local players simultaneously as you compete for the top score through all seven of its events. The game was combined with other Sega track and field games and was released on the PlayStation 2 in Japan as DecAthlete Collection. It was included along with DecAthlete and Winter Heat in volume 15 of the Sega Ages series.

ESPN Extreme Games
ESPN Extreme Games (later renamed 1Xtreme due to the ESPN license expiring for Sony) was a game released for the PlayStation in 1995. A version was released for the PC's MS-DOS operating system a short time later. The game featured all the sports included in the Summer X-Games of 1995, but it did not feature events like the half pipe in skateboarding. It was similar to Road Rash, which was a game published by Electronic Arts. The game was followed by two sequels, 2Xtreme and 3Xtreme.

Empire of Sports is an online multiple-sport MMORPG developed by the French company F4, that advertises itself as the first ever of that style. It was first demo-ed at the Leipzig Games Convention in August 2007 and is currently in a so-called Prologue phase which objectives are similar to a beta testing. It's downloadable and playable for free, although one can already spend money on the title. The release date hasn't been confirmed yet.

3Xtreme
3Xtreme is a racing game released for the PlayStation in 1999. As with 2Xtreme, 3Xtreme contains skateboarding, skating, and biking options to reach the goal before opponent players. Unlike 2Xtreme, however, 3Xtreme's characters are composed of polygons as opposed to sprites. Such a design choice was detrimental to the graphics, however, as the game experienced frequent slowdown when more than one player was on the screen.
