The Vedas, or "Books of Knowledge," are the most sacred texts in Hinduism. They were written around 1200 BCE to 100 CE and begin with four vedas: Rig Veda, Sama Veda, Yajur Veda and Atharva Veda. The Vedas expanded over time, now including Brahmanas, Aranyakas and Upanishads.
