Abilene Christian University
Entering the 2015-16 school year, Abilene Christian head softball coach Bobby Reeves will be at the start of his sixth season with the Wildcats. Reeves' ACU teams recorded three consecutive winning seasons from 2011-13 under his expertise, and in 2014 - the Wildcats posted a .500 record against the 12-team Southland Conference as first year NCAA DI members.

Houston Baptist University
Mary-Ellen Hall enters her 24th season as head coach of the HBU softball team. The Huskies made the Southland Conference Tournament for the first time, in 2014, as HBU went 22-28 overall and10-6 in conference play. The Huskies won the first SLC Tournament game, defeating Stephen F. Austin, 8-7. HBU placed four players on the All-Conference Team, sophomore Kirsten Schwirtlich was named NFCA All-Region, and 12 student-athletes were named to the SLC Spring Honor Roll.

Lamar University
Holly Bruder, a coach who has established a reputation for building fledgling softball programs, enters her fourth season at Lamar University. LU, which had softball from 1983 to 1987, brought softball back in the 2013 season, and Bruder made an immediate impact. The Cardinals won their season-opener in walk-off fashion over UTSA and ended the regular season with three straight walk-off victories over Houston Baptist to clinch a berth in the Southland Conference Tournament.

McNeese State University
Joanna Hardin, a key element in the sustained success of the McNeese Cowgirl softball program that has won back-to-back Southland Conference championships, was named head coach last June. Hardin, a native of Fullerton, Calif., has spearheaded the Cowgirl pitching staff the last two seasons, both of which led the Southland in numerous team and individual pitching statistical categories as well as ranking high among the NCAA leaders.

Nicholls State University
From his first year to his second year, there were marked improvements in all aspects of the Nicholls brand of softball. Santiago led Nicholls to 14 victories in his inaugural season before increasing the win total by eight in his second year as the Colonels finished with 22 wins. In addition to more overall victories; conference victories, offensive production - including total hits, runs scored, on-base and slugging percentage - all increased, as did the fielding percentage.

Northwestern State University
Donald Pickett enters his seventh year at the helm of the Northwestern State softball program after guiding the Lady Demons to consecutive Southland Conference Tournament crowns and NCAA Tournament appearances in 2013 and 2014. One season ago, under Pickett's direction, NSU posted a 30-22 record including a 15-10 mark in Southland play. Beginning on April 12 against Central Arkansas, NSU won 13 of its final 16 games including three straight at the conference tournament in Hammond.

Rick Fremin is in his first season as the Southeastern Louisiana University head softball coach. Fremin became the sixth head coach in program history on July 22, 2015. Fremin, a Belle Chasse, Louisiana native comes to Hammond after spending the previous five seasons at Jackson State.

Stephen F. Austin State University
Gay McNutt is entering her eighth season as head coach of the Ladyjack softball program and has more than 20 years of experience as a head coach. After inheriting a team that hadn't reached the Southland Conference Tournament in 18 years, McNutt led her squad to the league's postseason event in each of her first three seasons in charge and has brought the program both its first-ever Southland Conference championship and its first-ever trip to the Division I NCAA Championships.

Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi
The 2015-16 season will mark Stephanie Hughes' fifth year as head coach for the Islanders softball program. Hughes, a native of Angleton, Texas, led the 2014-15 Islanders team to their first 20-win season since the 2011 season and the squad also advanced to the Southland Conference Tournament for the first time since 2012. The team won six conference series victories during the season and concluded the regular season winning five straight, including seven of their last nine games.

Mandee Gamboa is in her third season as the head coach of the University of the Incarnate Word softball program.
