A limited-overs cricket tournament has been a feature of Australian cricket since the 1969–70 season, branded as the Matador BBQs One-Day Cup for the 2016–17 season. Initially a knockout cup, the competition now features a single round-robin followed by a finals series, with matches limited to 50 overs per side.

The ICC World Twenty20 (also referred to as the World T20, and colloquially as the T20 World Cup) is the international championship of Twenty20 cricket. Organised by cricket's governing body, the International Cricket Council (ICC), the tournament currently consists of 16 teams, comprising all ten ICC full members and six other associate or affiliate members chosen through the World Twenty20 Qualifier.

The ICC ODI Championship is an international One Day International cricket competition run by the International Cricket Council. The competition is notional in that it is simply a ranking scheme overlaid on the regular ODI match schedule.

The ICC Cricket World Cup is the international championship of One Day International (ODI) cricket. The event is organised by the sport's governing body, the International Cricket Council (ICC), every four years, with preliminary qualification rounds leading up to a finals tournament.

The Australia national cricket team, represents the country of Australia in international cricket. It is the joint oldest team in Test cricket history, having played in the first ever Test match in 1877.[8] The team also plays One Day International cricket and Twenty20 International, participating in both the first ODI, against England in the 1970–71 season[9] and the first Twenty20 International, against New Zealand in the 2004–05 season, winning both games.
