The Cal Poly Mustangs men's basketball team represents California Polytechnic State University, located in San Luis Obispo, California. The school's team currently competes in the Big West Conference. The team began playing at the Division 1 level in 1994. The Mustangs are coached by Joe Callero and play their home games at Mott Athletic Center. Cal Poly advanced to their first NCAA Tournament in 2014 after a historic run in the Big West Conference Men's Basketball Tournament becoming the first 7 seed to win the Championship. Cal Poly earned the 16 seed and defeated fellow 16 seed Texas Southern in the First Round in Dayton.

The Cal State Fullerton Titans men's basketball team is the basketball team that represents California State University, Fullerton in Fullerton, California, United States. The school's team currently competes in the Big West Conference.

The Hawaii Rainbow Warriors basketball team represents the University of Hawaii at Manoa in NCAA men's competition. (Women's sports teams at the school are known as Rainbow Wahine.) The team currently competes in the Big West Conference after leaving its longtime home of the Western Athletic Conference in July 2012. The team's most recent appearance in the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament was in 2002. The Rainbow Warriors are coached by Eran Ganot.

The Long Beach State 49ers Basketball team represents California State University, Long Beach in Long Beach, California. The school's team currently competes in the Big West Conference. The team last played in the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament in 2012. The 49ers are currently coached by Dan Monson.

The UC Irvine Anteaters men's basketball team is the basketball team that represents the University of California, Irvine. The team currently competes in the Big West Conference, NCAA Division I. UC Irvine basketball has seen a resurgence under current head coach Russell Turner. Turner was an assistant coach with the Golden State Warriors, before accepting the head coaching role at UCI in 2010. The Anteaters' rivals are the 49ers of Long Beach State. The basketball program boasts famous alumni, including former Oklahoma City Thunder head coach Scott Brooks and Arizona Cardinals tight end Darren Fells.

The UC Riverside Highlanders men's basketball team represents the University of California, Riverside in Riverside, California, United States. The school's team currently competes in the Big West Conference. The squad is currently led by interim head coach Dennis Cutts, who replaced Jim Wooldridge when the latter stepped down as head coach to assume the role of interim Athletic Director at the school. The Highlanders play their home games at the UC Riverside Student Recreation Center. The program had its greatest success as a Division II program, making it to three Final Fours and the national title game in 1995.
