Faith Mimnaugh enters her 19th season as the head coach of the Cal Poly women's basketball program having led the Mustangs to either the NCAA Tournament or the WNIT four times since 2011.
The women's basketball team had its greatest success during the 1980s when coached by Joan Bonvicini for 12 years. During that time the team went 325-71. The 49ers won 10 Big West Conference titles, made 10 straight NCAA appearances, had 12 consecutive winning seasons, and never won fewer than 24 games in a season. Bonvicini guided the 49ers to Final Four appearances in 1987 and 1988.
Head Coach John Margaritis has taken the Highlanders women's basketball team to new heights in his 10 seasons in Riverside. Margaritis continues to rewrite the UCR record books averaging 14.4 wins per season and making the postseason in five of eight years (three NCAA Tournament appearances and two WNIT appearances).
UC Santa Barbara hired Bonnie Henrickson as its Head Women's Basketball Coach on Apr. 23, 2015. Henrickson takes over the Gauchos' program after serving the last 11 years as the Head Coach at Kansas.
