The Lindenwood Lady Lions women's ice hockey team represents Lindenwood University located in St. Charles, Missouri. The Lady Lions currently participate in the NCAA Division I competition as a member of College Hockey America (CHA). The team played with no conference affiliation as an Independent program for its first season of NCAA competition. During the 2011-12 season, Lindenwood was accepted into College Hockey America (CHA) beginning in the 2012-2013 season. Prior to 2011 the university was a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), because the organization does not sponsor women's ice hockey, the program competed in the American Collegiate Hockey Association at the ACHA DI level.

The Mercyhurst Lakers women's ice hockey team is the hockey team that represents the Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pennsylvania. The program started in 1999 and Michael Sisti has been the only coach in the history of the program. From 2000 to 2002, the Lakers were part of the Great Lakes Women's Hockey Association. While in the Great Lakes Women's Hockey Association, the Lakers qualified for the GLWHA twice (in 2001, and 2002). The Lakers were regular season champions in 2000-01 and 2001-02, and won the playoff championships in 2002. Starting in the 2002-03 season, the Lakers joined the College Hockey America conference.

Penn State Nittany Lions women's ice hockey is a college ice hockey program that has represented Penn State University in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I and College Hockey America (CHA) since the 2012-13 season. Prior to that, the program was designated as a varsity club sport and competed at the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Division 1 level, primarily as a member of Eastern Collegiate Women's Hockey League. Penn State plays its home games at Pegula Ice Arena in University Park, Pennsylvania.

The RIT Tigers women's ice hockey team is one of two hockey teams representing Rochester Institute of Technology in suburban Rochester, New York. The team moved to NCAA Division I women's ice hockey as a member of College Hockey America, after many years at Division III as part of the ECAC West conference. The Bruce B. Bates Women's Hockey Coach is former Niagara University player Scott McDonald.

The Robert Morris Colonials women's ice hockey program represents Robert Morris University. The Colonials compete in the College Hockey America conference.

Syracuse Orange women's ice hockey is a college ice hockey program that has represented Syracuse University in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I and College Hockey America (CHA) since the 2008-09 season. Syracuse plays its home games at Tennity Ice Skating Pavilion in Syracuse, New York.

The Brown Bears women's ice hockey program is a NCAA Division I ice hockey team that represents Brown University. The Bears play at the Meehan Auditorium in Providence, Rhode Island. Brown women's hockey is the oldest women's hockey program in the United States. It was the first collegiate women's ice hockey program in the United States, started in 1964. The team was led from 1989 to 2011 by Head Coach Margaret ("Digit") Murphy, who became the winningest coach in Division I women's ice hockey history during her 18th season at Brown (2006-2007).

The Clarkson Golden Knights women's hockey team is an NCAA Division I ice hockey team that represents Clarkson University in rural Potsdam, New York. The Golden Knights have been a member of ECAC Hockey since 2004, and play home games in Cheel Arena on the Clarkson University campus.

The Colgate Raiders women's ice hockey team is an NCAA Division I ice hockey team that represents Colgate University and play in ECAC Hockey. The Raiders play their home games at Starr Arena. The Raiders have played in Division I hockey since the 2001-02 season after playing at the NCAA Division III from 1997-2001.

The Cornell Big Red women's ice hockey program represents Cornell University and participates in ECAC Hockey.

The Dartmouth Big Green women's ice hockey program represents Dartmouth College. In 2001, Dartmouth participated in the inaugural NCAA Championship tournament. Since then, they have appeared in the "Frozen Four", the semifinals of the NCAA hockey tournament, three times.

The Harvard Crimson women's ice hockey team represents Harvard University in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I women's hockey. Harvard competes as a member of the ECAC Conference and plays its home games at the Bright Hockey Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

The Princeton Tigers women's ice hockey team represents Princeton University.

The Quinnipiac Bobcats women's ice hockey program represents Quinnipiac University. The Bobcats compete in ECAC Hockey.

The RPI Engineers women's ice hockey team is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I women's college ice hockey program that represents Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. The Engineers are a member of ECAC Hockey (ECACHL). They play at the Houston Field House in Troy, New York.

The St. Lawrence Saints represent St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York. The Saints play at Appleton Arena and are part of the Eastern College Athletic Conference. In 2001, St. Lawrence participated in the inaugural NCAA Championship tournament. Their current head coach is St. Lawrence alumna Chris Wells, who is in his second season, and has a record of 131 wins, 98 losses, and 29 ties.

The Union Dutchwomen's ice hockey team represents Union College in Schenectady, New York, United States.

Yale University women's ice hockey (YWIH) is an NCAA Division I varsity ice hockey program at Yale University in New Haven, CT. One of the oldest varsity women's ice hockey programs in the country, Yale women's ice hockey dates back to 1975. Beginning as a club sport, the program gained varsity team status in 1977-78.

The Boston College Eagles women's ice hockey team represent Boston College in the NCAA and participate in Hockey East. The Eagles are coached by former Olympic gold medallist Katie King and play their home games at Conte Forum.

The Boston University Terriers women's ice hockey represent Boston University. The Terriers play in the Hockey East conference. Finishing their 10th season as a D-I varsity team, the Terriers have won five Hockey East Championships and have made six consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances.

The Connecticut Huskies women's ice hockey program represents the University of Connecticut. The Huskies compete in Hockey East.

The Maine Black Bears women's ice hockey team represents the University of Maine. The team plays their home games in Alfond Arena. The first year of Women's Ice Hockey was in 1997-98. Up to the end of the 2012-13 season, the program record was 176-268-57 (.408). The Black Bears last Post-Season game was March 1, 2013 (Quarterfinals - 2013 Hockey East Tournament, Result: Boston College 2, Maine 1 (OT).)

The Merrimack Warriors women's ice hockey team is a future National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I women's college ice hockey program that will represent Merrimack College. The Warriors will become a member of Hockey East, in which the men's program already competes in. They will play at the 3,000-seat J. Thom Lawler Arena in North Andover, Massachusetts, which underwent a major renovation in 2010.

The Northeastern women's ice hockey team represents Northeastern University. The Huskies play in the Hockey East conference.

The Notre Dame Women's Ice Hockey team is a competitive club on campus that embraces a fun and challenges. The key goals for all members are team building, leadership and skills training. Combining a relaxed atmosphere with a competitive spirit, the team travels all over the Midwest, from Chicago to St. Louis, and hosts several games at home.

The Providence Friars women's ice hockey team is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I college ice hockey program that represents the Providence College. The Friars are a member of Hockey East. They play at the 3,030-seat Schneider Arena in Providence, Rhode Island.

The Vermont Catamounts women's ice hockey program represents the University of Vermont. The Catamounts compete in Hockey East. Their first year of varsity women's hockey was in 1998-99. The Catamounts were in the ECAC at the Division III level of competition. In 2001-02, the Catamounts moved up to Division I. During the 2005-06, the Catamounts moved to Hockey East.

The Bemidji State Beavers are a women's college hockey team that plays in Bemidji, Minnesota, United States.

The Minnesota Golden Gophers women's ice hockey team plays for the University of Minnesota at the Twin Cities campus in Minneapolis. The team is one of the members of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) and competes in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in Division I. The Golden Gophers have won five NCAA Championships as well as an American Women's College Hockey Alliance Championship. In the WCHA, they have also been regular season champions 8 times and tournament champions five times.

The Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs women's ice hockey team plays for the University of Minnesota Duluth at the AMSOIL Arena in Duluth, Minnesota. The team is a member of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) and competes in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in the Division I tier. The Bulldogs have won five NCAA Championships in the eleven-year history of the Women's NCAA Frozen Four. Shannon Miller served as the program's first head coach from 1999 to 2015.

Kevin Buisman, Minnesota State Director of Athletics, has announced that John Harrington has been named head coach of the Maverick women's hockey program.

The North Dakota Fighting Hawks women's ice hockey team is the college ice hockey team at the Grand Forks campus of the University of North Dakota. They are members of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) and compete in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I women ice hockey. The current women's head coach is Brian Idalski in his sixth season.

The Ohio State Buckeyes women's ice hockey team represents Ohio State University in NCAA Division I competition in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association. The team plays homegames at OSU Ice Rink, located on the Ohio State campus in Columbus, Ohio.

The St. Cloud State Huskies women's hockey ice program represents St. Cloud State University, and participate in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.

Sacred Heart University is a Roman Catholic university located in suburban Fairfield, Connecticut, United States. Sacred Heart was founded in 1963 by the Most Reverend Walter W. Curtis, Bishop of the Diocese of Bridgeport, Connecticut. Sacred Heart University was the first Catholic university in the United States to be staffed by the laity. Dr. John J. Petillo is the current President of the University.
