ASU has had a very successful wrestling team. The Sun Devils have captured one NCAA team national championship in 1988 beating powerhouse Iowa, followed by two years of national runner ups in 1989 & 1990 losing out to Oklahoma State both years. The Binghamton Bearcats wrestling team represents Binghamton University of Vestal, New York. The squad was coached by Pat Popolizio, a former wrestler for the Oklahoma State Cowboys, who left in 2012 to take the head wrestling coach position at North Carolina State University. In 1999 as an assistant coach for the Broncos, Randall helped guide Kirk White to the 165-pound national title. In his 12 seasons since being promoted to head coach, Gregg Randall's teams have finished in the top-three at the conference tournament 10 times. In 1988 BSU wrestling joined the Pac-10. Randall has led the Broncos to the top of the Pac-12 Conference four times, to go along with seven top-25 finishes at the NCAA Championships including a 9th-place finish at the 2010-11 NCAA Championships. In 2006 Randall guided his first individual NCAA Champion as a head coach with Ben Cherrington capturing the national title in the 157-pound weight class.

Bob Patnesky is in his eleventh season as Davidson College's head wrestling coach and ranks third in all-time victories at the school. For the first time in program history, the Wildcats qualified a pair of wrestlers for the 2014 NCAA National Championship during the 2013-14 season. Davidson boasted its' second straight SoCon champion, as Scott Patrick won the 2014 SoCon title at 184 pounds. Michigan State University
Wrestling was one of the earliest sports formed at the Michigan Agricultural College. While the sport was dropped in 1906, it was reformed by the college 16 years later in 1922. The school's wrestling team has won the NCAA Division I championship once, in 1967. Rider wrestling practices in a 3,600 square foot mat room on the top floor of the Mauer Center while home meets are held in Alumni Gym, which seats 1,650. In 2013, Rider left the CAA as an associate member shortly after the CAA announced that it would no longer sponsor wrestling and joined the Eastern Wrestling League. Prior to joining the Big Ten in 2014, the Terrapins wrestling team won more ACC team championships than any other school in the conference, winning their 24th ACC title in 2012. The 2012 ACC championship is the Terps' fourth in the past five years. The Minnesota Golden Gophers are a Division I college wrestling team based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. They are a member of the Big Ten Conference and NCAA. Wrestling began at the University of Minnesota in 1910, but the first formal dual meet was not until 1921 when coach Frank Gilman led the team to a victory over Wisconsin. The Gophers have won the NCAA wrestling team championship three times, in 2001, 2002, and 2007. Since 1998, Smith has received honors for his coaching accomplishments at the University of Missouri: Dan Gable Coach of the Year (2007), NWCA President (2010-12), Big 12 Coach of the Year (2012). Ben Askren is among the few from the University's wrestling program to make the transition to Mixed Martial Arts. Ben Askren is a 4-time All-American wrestler (2004-2007), 2-time NCAA Division I Collegiate National Runner-up (2004, 2005), 2-time NCAA Division I Collegiate National Champion (2006, 2007), and 2-time Dan Hodge Trophy Collegiate Wrestler of the Year (2006, 2007). He has been inducted into the University of Missouri Intercollegiate Athletics Hall of Fame (2012).

Bill Lam coached the program for 30 years until C.D. Mock replaced him in 2002. Mock achieved two ACC Coach of the Year (2005, 2006) & two ACC Champions (2005, 2006) awards. Though UNC is more known for basketball, the Tar Heel wrestling program has 5 individual NCAA champions: Mock, T.J. Jaworsky, who won 3 back-to-back NCAA title in the 134-pound weight class in 1993-1995, & 1988 NCAA Champion Rob Koll.

The University of Northern Iowa Wrestling team, founded in 1923, won the NCAA (Single division) national championship in 1950 and the NCAA Division II national championships in 1975 and 1978. They competed in the Western Wrestling Conference until 2012, when UNI became an associate member of the Mid-American Conference since the MVC is a non-wrestling conference.

US Air Force Academy
The Falcon wrestling team began competition in 1957 and currently competes in the Big 12 Conference (the Mountain West doesn't sponsor wrestling). From 2006 to 2015, the Falcons had been a member of the Western Wrestling Conference (WWC), but the conference chose to disband after the 2014-15 school year when all of its members accepted an offer of single-sport membership in the Big 12. Home wrestling events are held at either the Cadet East Gym or at Clune Arena. The team is currently coached by former Olympian Joel Sharratt in his eighth season, and former national champion for the University of Iowa, under the tutelage of legendary coach Dan Gable.

US Military Academy
The Army Black Knights Wrestling team host home dual meets, tournaments, workout, and practice in the state of the art facility Arvin Gymnasium on campus. The team currently competes in the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) since Army is a member of the non-wrestling Patriot League. In 2014, Kevin Ward, a former Oklahoma State All-American, took over the program. Ward is best known for starting the Ouachita Baptist University wrestling program in 2010, the first NCAA wrestling program in Arkansas.

US Naval Academy
The Navy Midshipmen Wrestling team is coached by Navy '97 Alum Brian Antonelli. The wrestling team at the United States Naval Academy have competed beginning since 1920 and have been competing for the NCAA Championships starting in the 1931 season. The team has placed as high as 5th at the NCAA Championships back in 1942 and most recently 18th both in 2007 & 2008. With 44 wrestlers placing 61 times as All-Americans at the NCAA Division I Championships and 6 overall four-time All-Americans throughout its time.

Entering his 10th year of coaching at the helm of Utah Valley University wrestling, head coach Greg Williams has guided his Wolverines from a Division I Independent to a member of the Big 12 Conference during his tenure. Williams has also sent at least one Wolverine grappler to the NCAA Championships in each of the past six seasons. In 2011, he coached UVU's first-ever wrestling All-American in 125-pounder Benjamin Kjar (placed fourth) and also took a program best four NCAA qualifiers in 2014.

Virginia Tech Hokie Wrestling has a history dating back to the 1920-1921 season. The team had its highest NCAA Championship team standing in 2014 with an 8th overall finish led by 2014 NCAA 141 lbs. finalist and team captain Devin Carter. Carter was the Hokies' first finalist in team history, despite a torn hamstring that put him on the sidelines from December to the ACC Championships. Since 2006 Hokie Wrestling has been coached by, 1986 Hawkeye NCAA National Champion, Kevin Dresser who has led the team to a second straight ACC title in 2014.
