’Tis the season—almost. The Maggie Daley Park Skating Ribbon and McCormick Tribune Ice Rink in Millennium Park are both set to open for business on Friday, November 17—the same day the city’s official Christmas tree will be lit at Michigan Avenue and Washington Street.

Attendance was down at the ice rinks at Millennium Park and Maggie Daley Park this season, which saw unseasonably warm weather and a snow drought for the first two months of the year.

The Millennium Park ice rink will open Nov. 18, the same day as the park's tree lighting, city officials said Tuesday.

The McCormick Tribune Ice Rink in Millennium park will kick off the winter season on Friday, November 17 (weather permitting), on the same day as the 104th Annual Chicago Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration. The rink will open to the public at noon and remain open through Sunday, March 4, 2018.
