The Broncos have found themselves in a lot of holes this season, but where gambles paid off for the defense in years past, 2017 is a different story.

Von Miller sat alone at his locker and dropped his head into his right hand. Tape and ripped threads jutted out at every angle as the all-pro linebacker sat with his feet on the floor, the pain of another loss in an endless string of football misery washing over him.

Chris Harris entered the season believing more zone coverage would lead to more interceptions, more opportunities for big plays. Twice as many, he expected. Instead, his targets in coverage have been slashed.

According to Pro Football Focus, a few Denver Broncos players had tough games and accounted for a lot of the teams inability to compete.

The last vestiges of a championship defense died Sunday in the clumps of grass left in Kenyan Drake's wake.

Denver's defense has long been the team's strong point, but a rout by the Eagles highlighted several concerns for the unit.

Without an effective pass rush, opposing offenses are finding a lot of open running backs and tight ends in the secondary.

A shutout is hard to do in the NFL, so its predictable that the defensive players get the majority of the game balls in this one!
