Kid Chef Eliana de Las Casas grew up in a family of cooks. With grandparents from Cajun Louisiana, the Philippines, Cuba, and Honduras, Eliana’s recipes have international flair. Eliana says, “Cooking is so much fun. You can be creative and invent new recipes.” Eliana has three cookbooks: Eliana Cooks! Recipes for Creative Kids; Cool Kids Cook: Louisiana, which won a Parents’ Choice Approved Award and a 2014 International Latino Book Award (Pelican Publishing); and Cool Kids Cook: Fresh & Fit (Pelican Publishing). Kid Chef Eliana is enrolled at the New Orleans Center for the Creative Arts, a high school arts conservatory with a full, four-year culinary program funded by the Emeril Lagasse Foundation with a Johnson &Wales curriculum. During Summer 2015, she staged at the world famous New Orleans restaurant, Commander’s Palace, under James Beard Award-Winning Executive Chef Tory McPhail.

The “Let’s Get Cookin’” show is live on Fridays at 6:00pm CT (7:00pm ET, 4:00pm PT). Local guests are asked to visit WHIV’s brand-new state-of-the-art studio with New Orleans flair while out-of-town guests are connected to the show by telephone. 16-year-old Kid Chef Eliana (Eliana de Las Casas), award-winning chef, cookbook author, and radio show host, is the 2016 Food Network Chopped Teen Grand Champion. The tournament had 16 teens battling for a cash prize of $25,000. Kid Chef Eliana won the finale, which aired on Tuesday, September 20, 2016. With her prize money, Eliana realized her dream of starting her own spice company.
