Beyonce was the lead singer of Destiny's Child and the group became one of the world's best-selling girl groups of all time. As self-described "modern-day feminist", her musical repertoire is often characterized by themes of love, relationships, and monogamy, as well as female sexuality and empowerment. In 2008, she married Jay Z and in 2012, they had their daughter, Blue Ivy Carter.
