Dion’s was named after none other than Dionysus, the Greek god of wine and rockin’ parties. Our founders, Bill and Jon, initially thought their company was going to be a swinging Greek restaurant, not a pizzeria. Serving pizza was supposed to be just a temporary fill-in while they waited for their gyro machines to arrive. (No joke!)As to why "Dionysus" was shortened to "Dion’s," well, that’s a funny story.
