Leo's dad is George DiCaprio (Italian) and his mom is Irmelin Indenbirken (German). He is an only child. Leonardo would beg his mom to take him to auditions when he was younger and eventually, in 11th grade, he dropped out of high school so he could attend an acting center. He later completed his GED, but never went on to college.
