Has there ever been a film more shrouded in mystery than Don's Plum? The 'experimental' black and white film, shot in 1995, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire, first came to prominence in 1998 when its producer, David Stutman, sued the actors for apparently using their industry clout (something they didn't have at the time the film was made) to block its release. The actors argued that they were told it would never be released, and that they appeared in it only as a favor to director, R.D. Robb (better known as Ralphie's pal, Schwartz, in A Christmas Story). A year after filing suit, Stutman settled with the actors: the film is banned in North America, but can be distributed around the world. It premiered at the Berlin Film Festival in February 2001, and has just been released on video and DVD in Australia.

Could they be any more immature? Long-unfinished 1995 Amer-indie "Don's Plum" finally reveals itself to be an unpleasant ensembler featuring Leonardo Di Caprio and Tobey Maguire as "bros" who gather at the titular L.A. "chill spot" with a new "hottie" in tow for a long night of coffee, French fries, intra-posse abuse and X-rated banter.

Donâ??s Plum, also known as the film Leonardo DiCaprio never wants you to see, has been removed from a free streaming site yet again. The five-time Oscar nominee has spent twenty years trying to keep the low-budget black-and-white indie, which he shot over just a few days in 1996, from the public eye. Released online in 2001 after failing to make it to cinemas, Donâ??s Plum is widely considered the worst movie of DiCaprioâ??s acclaimed career.

Don's Plum is a 2001 low-budget black and white indie film drama directed by R. D. Robb, starring Leonardo Di Caprio, Tobey Maguire and Kevin Connolly.[1] The drama was filmed in 1995-1996, and written by Robb with Bethany Ashton, Tawd Beckman, David Stutman and Dale Wheatley. The film takes place over the course of one night in which a group of young adults discuss life while eating at a diner.
