Privileged teenage friends Jenny (Gaby Hoffmann), Nell (Tricia Vessey) and Stream (Bonnie Root) spend their senior year on a quest to rid Stream of her virginity. However, Stream wants more than just her first sexual experience. She wants to have an orgasm -- but achieving this proves problematic, as the boys she meets are hardly sensitive enough to provide her the release she seeks. When it becomes clear that Nell and Jenny have never experienced an orgasm either, all three set out to get one.

Film geek fetishists, teenage lesbianism and female independence all come into play in the brightly colored 90's teen comedy Coming Soon. I would like to think positively & imagine that the original unmolested concept for Coming Soon was a thoughtful, brave coming of age story about three female friends asserting themselves and navigating their first orgasms. This might have been a great concept before rewrites and budgetary compromises and campy stereotypes muddled the vision of Colette Burson's directorial debut. There are some rare funny vignettes sprinkled throughout the throbbing and moaning and moist sweaty atmosphere of this subversive teen sex comedy.
