This 30-minute horror/fantasy anthology series follows in the vein of The Twilight Zone. Each week presents another standalone story of horror fantasy, and/or science fiction.
Horror anthology fans, brace yourselves for big news: George A. Romero’s classic Tales from the Darkside is being developed into a new series by The CW. And it’s being written by acclaimed horror novelist Joe Hill (NOS4A2), the pseudonymous son of Stephen King.
So nothing about ''Tales From the Darkside'' is likely to give anyone much of a scare. But thanks to casting that is savvier than the horror norm, and to direction by John Harrison that is workmanlike and sometimes even witty, at least it's fun.
If you have never seen one of them before, a horror anthology is basically where the director had a bunch of good creepy short stories that he wanted to make into a film, but none of them were long enough or had enough substance to stretch into a 90 minute movie. So the way to get around that was to create an anthology.
