J. R. R. Tolkien lived from January 3, 1892 to September 2, 1973 and wrote some of the most beloved fantasy stories of all time. These include The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit and The Silmarillion as well as other poems and short stories. The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit have been recently adapted for live action film and although The Simarillion had elements incorporated into The Hobbit, we have yet to see it fully transformed.
