Nestled in the heart of downtown Vancouver, this public gallery is named after the acclaimed Haida artist Bill Reid (1920 - 1998). The Gallery is home to the Simon Fraser University Bill Reid Collection and special exhibitions of contemporary Indigenous Art of the Northwest Coast. Highlights include stunning gold and silver jewelry, monumental sculptures and a towering totem pole by James Hart of Haida Gwaii. The Gallery Shop is a source for Northwest Coast gifts, including carefully selected works of original art, finely crafted jewelry, and uniquely designed accessories and giftware. Inspired by the Gallery's exhibitions, featured pieces are authentic and indigenous. All purchases support contemporary Northwest Coast artists. William Ronald "Bill" Reid, Jr., OBC (12 January 1920 – 13 March 1998) (Haida) was a Canadian artist whose works include jewelry, sculpture, screen-printing, and paintings. Some of his major works were featured on the Canadian $20 banknote of the Canadian Journey series (2004–2012).
