Yunnan Military Academy was founded in 1909, was originally the Qing army officer training in the new school, in 1928 ended. Yunnan Military Academy is one of the military academies in China earlier, partly instructors are led by Sun Yat-League members.
Visitors can view a variety of well maintained vintage weapons, paintings and pictures of historic events as well as the accommodation, complete with furniture, used by the officers at the school.
The site of the former Yunnan Army Military School is located on West Cuihu Road, adjacent to Yunnan Provincial Agricultural Exhibition Hall and the Provincial Library.
The academy was founded in 1909 in Kunming city, Yunnan province and stopped working in 1935 because of the Second Sino-Japanese War. It enrolled 22 batches of students during 26 years and totally cultivated more than 9000 trainees.
