Since re-opening a new space at separate building in Cheonan in 2002, ARARIO Gallery has run three branches in Cheonan and Seoul in Korea and Shanghai in China.
ARARIO GALLERY Cheonan opened in 2002, where can feel the president Chang-il Kim’s passion for art including ARARIO Sculpture Garden. It has led to introduce various contemporary arts to Korea by hosting a variety of important exhibitions such as the first Korea showing of work by American Pop-artist Keith Haring, a comprehensive retrospective of photos by Cindy Sherman and Vanessa Beecroft, and largest presentation of German and British artists ever staged in Korea that include Jorg Immendorff, Neo Rauch and Sigmar Polke among others.
ARARIO GALLERY Seoul has branched out to Samcheong-dong from 2006 until 2011, and Cheongdam-dong from 2011until 2014. GALLERY ARARIO Seoul reopened in March 2014 in an area of Bukchon, the place known as the Mecha of Korea’s contemporary art scene. GALLERY ARARIO Seoul has hosted a wide range of exhibitions by international artists including Subodh Gupta, Keiji Uematsu, Leslie de Chavez, CHOI Byungso, KIM Kulim, Osang GWON among others. Also, It plans to present the works of brand-new artists whom we have been actively introducing and supporting, leading to new findings and trends in the Korean art world.
From 2005 to 2012 in Beijing, ARARIO gallery ranked among the greatest galleries in China with groundbreaking exhibitions by various artists from across China, India and South East Asia. ARARIO gallery opened space at Hengshanfang, Shanghai from August 2014 to June 2017 and was appointed to the BEST OF SHANGHAI AWARDS. In July 2017, To continue being a pioneer of modern art, ARARIO Gallery relocated to Westbund, as the city's newest art district since 2014 and Arario secured a spacious 1,000-square-meter venue in the heart of the district.
