Dances of Vice presents PARISIAN FOLLIES, a New Year's Eve "Grande
Spectacle" that will traverse through Paris' Golden Age, the 1890s Belle
Époque, to the vibrant 1920s Années folles, at the Grand Prospect Hall.
This sumptuous revue offers a melange of Parisian delights, from opera to
vaudeville and can can girls all within the palatial rooms of Brooklyn’s
famed architectural tribute to Versailles. Built as a “temple of music and
amusement” in 1892, the Grand Prospect Hall is steeped in history and
intrigue, and has hosted extravagant balls and secret societies since its
inception.
As the clock strikes midnight, revel in playful Rococo and Belle Epoque
entertainment with a dash of decadent pleasure-seeking evocative of postwar
Paris in tribute to the splendid history of infamous cabaret halls of
Paris, including the Folies Bergère, Moulin Rouge, and the glorious Casino
de Paris, which has a history dating back to 1730.
In an intimate version of Le Chat Noir of Montmartre, you can savor the
bitter beauty of absinthe served in 19th Century style, and move your feet
to the music of the "Lost Generation" as they did at Chez Bricktop's, a
beacon for Parisian nightlife in the 1920s. To prepare for a long night of
dancing, gastronomically inclined guests can also opt dine on a lavish
buffet of rich French cuisine.
Dress for opulence and Parisian hedonism, and let the original sin city
unfurl its gilded petals to please you for one night of unfettered joie de
vivre. Welcome, 2017!
