On August 31,1997 Princess Diana was in fatal car crash inside the Pont de l'Alma tunnel in Paris. Around 12:23 am while traveling with 3 passengers, her driver Henri Paul lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a support pillar. Of the four people involved in the crash, only one survived. Princess Diana died shortly after rescue due to internal bleeding caused by major chest trauma which resulted in the rupture of her left pulmonary vein.
