Ranked among the TOP 800 universities in the world (QS World University Rankings) and following in the tradition of its 92-year-old progenitor University of Lithuania, Vytautas Magnus University is the only higher education institution in the country and one of the few in the region where a wide liberal arts education is imparted.

VMU follows the policy of liberal arts that allows students to make their study plans as well as decide which subjects to study and when. They are granted the opportunity to move from one study programme to another or to change the mode of studies. With the diploma of the Bachelor major, VMU students can also acquire a certificate of parallel BA studies, which enables them to later apply for a Master‘s degree in a different field of studies. In addition to 28 full-time Bachelor’s and Master’s degree studies available in English, foreign students at VMU may also choose to attend Bachelor’s and Master’s level part-time courses available at every faculty.
