Copa Wadsworth

The death of George Wadsworth last month has led some to ponder the future of the Copa Wadsworth. The annual squash match between the U.S. and Mexico was started in 1990 and has become a wonderful fixture on the calendar, helping cement ties between the two nations.

After earning his bachelor’s degree in 1943, George became a Marine lieutenant for three years and participated in the Iwo Jima invasion.

Photos from Copa #28. The annual competition between the United States and Mexico is an exciting international squash event. Created in 1990 this event has been held all over North America, and this year it was held in Philadelphia for the first time ever.

Eoin O'Neill has led a pretty charmed life. A native of Dublin, Ireland, O'Neill has spent time playing the sport of squash at the national and international level. But nothing has made him more proud than being chosen to coach the U.S. squash team in the annual Copa Wadsworth.
