Junior Boaz Joseph has seen significant action on special teams the past two seasons, but enters the 2016 season hopeful of making a larger contribution at cornerback. The 6-1, 190-pound Joseph has outstanding size and length for the cornerback position, which should allow him to match up with large opposing receivers.Nebraska will return 2015 starters and fellow juniors Joshua Kalu and Chris Jones at cornerback, but the competition for playing time beyond those two appears to be wide open. With Jones sidelined for much of the spring, Joseph took significant reps with the top defense.

The Skinny: A versatile defensive back, Joseph is thought of by his prep coaches first and foremost as a cornerback who excels in press coverage. His size aligns with the bigger types of cornerbacks Husker coaches seem to be targeting. Playing for a team that went 12-3 in Florida's top classification, Joseph's coach said teams often threw away from the corner because of his coverage. A late addition to the recruiting class, Nebraska picked up Joseph in the final two weeks before signing day, beating out Louisville and Wisconsin, among others.

Joseph was recruited from Cypress Bay (Fort Lauderdale, FL) class of 2013. He committed to Nebraska on 1/23/2013. He was recruited by Terry Joseph .
