Iceland: Travel Guide, Reviews, Tips & Pictures
Can you pronounce Eyjafjallajökull? Or how about Gluggaveður? No, then how about Fyrirgefðu? Yeah neither can we! Welcome to Iceland, the land of unpronounceable words -- and incredibly beautiful scenery. An island in the middle of the North Atlantic, known for 24 hours of sunlight in the summer, 18 hours of darkness in the winter, more sheep than people, and active volcanoes and glaciers only miles apart. Iceland is fascinating and perhaps the most unique destination we’ve ever been. With a population of 900,000 (600,000 of which are sheep), it’s no wonder Iceland offers unspoiled nature, breathtaking landscapes and a vibrant culture. And to think, for some unknown reason, we had never considered visiting this little island country way up in the Atlantic ocean. Here's everything you need to know about Iceland!
