Jobs left Apple in 1985, and the year following, bought a small animation studio from Lucasfilm for $5 million. In 1995, folowing the release of Toy Story, he finally saw the fruits of Pixar's labors. For the next decade and a half, the studio produced blockbuster after blockbuster, changing the landscape of the entertainment business. At the time it didn't seem like a major investment, but Jobs showed his business foresight by buying up George Lucas' Industrial Light & Magic computer animation division for $10 million in 1986. The company, initially called The Graphics Group, was later named Pixar and became a multibillion dollar company years later. The first film produced by the partnership was "Toy Story" in 1995 with Jobs credited as executive producer. In 2006, Disney agreed to purchase Pixar in an all-stock transaction worth $7.4 billion.
