Appetizers

Well it’s been decided and the big game is just a week away! So of course instead of football I’m thinking about the appetizers I’ll be serving during the game. And this hot spinach and artichoke dip recipe is a must try!

There is a Chinese saying that you first eat with your eyes, then your nose, then your mouth. In the case of these savory and sweet honey chicken wings it will be the smell of them cooking in the oven that will grab you around the taste buds and drag you into the the kitchen.

I have a few go-to recipes that I use for almost every social function that are easy, quick, easy, filling fan favorites and easy. Did I mention that I prefer easy recipes? Well, I do. Being the ultimate "mom-hack" that I am, I prefer to spend my time elsewhere (like facebook! ha!) and not on difficult recipes and crafts.

I’m obsessed with goat cheese and strawberries, which is why you’ll find both fully-stocked in our home at all times. We used to grow strawberries in our garden in Washington when I was a kid. There is nothing like a fresh, juicy, plump red strawberry plucked right out of your own backyard. I get pretty giddy this time of year, when local strawberries start ripening here in California. Around here you can stock up on fresh, organic strawberries for like $3 a flat!

I love San Diego. A lot. So much so, in fact, that sometimes I throw little parties for my local friends just to celebrate the amazingness that is America’s Finest City.
