A Busy Mom's 5-Minute Makeup Routine
I am SO thrilled to see the media development end of the business really picking up. It’s always been a dream of ours to break into direct photo and video development. We take pictures for brands and then pass them off for their advertising and social media use, oftentimes not even needing to post on our own channels. Obviously we enjoy sharing products and experiences here, but this branch of our work offers a certain refreshing degree of solitude.

Day to Night Looks: Easy Fashion for Busy People
As a mom and busy professional, it’s important for my clothes to be versatile. It’s not uncommon for me to go from a big client meeting to the park with Some Boy to date night with Nate all in one day. I’ve become quite the pro at day to night looks that require little effort.

Are "Mommy Makeovers" Really a Thing (and can I please have one)?
I was at an event the other day and the topic of mommy makeovers came up. Apparently this is a big trend in the post-Kardashian baby-having era. Those sisters are popping babies out left and right and then immediately turning the focus back on themselves.

5 Tips for a Summer to Fall Wardrobe Transition
The northern part of San Diego where we live fortunately has a rather mild climate. We pretty much skip winter altogether, with one long summer to fall transition followed by a bit of rain before we dive back into sunshine and bikinis. I’ve become something of an expert at layering tactics, doing my best to make my light clothing last year-round.

I wear Many Hats...and Sunglasses
I’m a mom. I’m a business owner. Depending on when you catch me, I can come off as kind of a health nut. I wear a lot of hats. And for that matter, I wear a lot of shoes, jewelry and sunglasses. I’ve talked a ton here about style. My style means a lot to me. After I had the kids, it was important to me not to lose those extra little accents that take an outfit above and beyond and make me feel just a bit more put together. Those details can set the tone for your day.

Wet to Waves: Style Your Hair in 10 Minutes Flat
I put up this pic of my pregnancy bump the other day, and the responses cracked me up. Everyone loved the bump (because, duh, who wouldn’t oooh and aaah over a baby-bulging belly?) but what my fellow moms were MOST impressed with was the hair. "How on earth," they pondered, "are you still fixing up your hair when you’re THAT pregnant?" I have my hands full and the morning routine can be a battle, but I’ve found a couple useful tools to help me expedite the process and go from wet to waves in less than ten minutes.

Affordable Style: It's in the Details
So, we’re going to a barbecue for Memorial Day. That’s enough of an excuse for me to go shopping, right? That AND the fact that nothing I own fits me anymore since I’ve dropped a ton of weight on the Paleo diet. Go me!

Fashion Stylist Tips (For Moms!)
I’ve had the chance to meet with several fashion stylists throughout my life, but most of their helpful tips got thrown out the window after Some Boy was born. Accessories? Please. Earrings and necklaces have become chew toys at best and choking hazards at worst. I can no longer wear pretty silks and sheer tops as they inevitably get baby "stuff" on them and I never pay full price for clothes anymore because my budget is relegated to toys and baby food. I’ve been in desperate need of someone to help me mesh my old style with my new lifestyle.

Tapping into Mom Style, with a Little Help
My best friend came into town the other day. We’ve known each other since college, and our lives since those rowdy days together have been rather divergent. She works in big cities doing PR for fashionable companies. I’m far less trendy with a very defined "mom style," and I seem to have forgotten some of the basic components of fashion.

4 Steps to Accessorize a Capsule Wardrobe
I’m slowly getting sucked into this capsule wardrobe trend. You may have seen the concept covered in magazines or on Pinterest. Savvy trendsetters buy 20-30 pieces that all go together, then rotate them and accessorize cleverly instead of constantly buying new clothing.

High End Fashion on a Budget
This has been a common experience for me in recent months. I’ve been traveling a lot lately and I end up in phenomenal places meeting with incredibly talented people. But here I am in my "mom uniform." A tank top, skinny jeans, and versatile sandals. You know what I’m talking about. This is easy. I don’t have to think about what I’m putting on in the morning

Brush Up on SoCal Spring Fashion Rules
Spring is here! I love spring. It’s so full hope, cozy draped sweaters and bare shoulders. Particularly in SoCal, this spring means a few clear-cut rules that the community as a whole are pretty darn thankful for:

Best Skirts for People Who Don't Usually Wear Skirts
Largely by default, I am not a girly girl. Most days I’m found wearing chunky boots and a pullover, petting an alligator with a baby strapped to my back while my oldest child contemplates picking his nose. This is my life. But like most women I know, I like to revel in my more feminine side on occasion. I pin pretty outfits on Pinterest, I get dolled up for cocktail hour when I’m speaking at a conference, and I try to squeeze in as much skirt-wearing time as I can.
