Sunday at the Museum, chef Deuki Hong's collaboration with Andrew Chau and Bin Chen of Boba Guys, opens today at the Asian Art Museum. The cafe is just one piece of the museum's ongoing $90 million renovation effort and it's also Hong's first standalone restaurant in San Francisco. The Sunday at the Museum team said the opening day menu has room to grow as the cafe's kitchen gets up and running, but for now, it'll have bentos, chicken wings, salads and sandwiches like a Korean fried chicken sandwich and a variation of a grilled pork banh mi.

After spending the last year getting used to the ebb and flow of the San Francisco food scene and building his own West Coast brand, Deuki Hong is expanding his culinary footprint beyond the pop-up genre. His latest venture - Sunday at the Museum - will open (as the name suggests) in the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco next month. This new intel caps a busy few weeks for Hong, who most recently was at the PyeongChang Olympics hosting a televised cooking demo. If the name Sunday at the Museum sounds familiar, that's because it's a nod to Hong's Fillmore pop-up Sunday Bird, which he operates out of the back of Boba Guys.
