I was reading an article about fast food employees picketing due to the low wages. Why would you picket and complain about the low wages of an entry level job? Seriously? I had an entry level job…WHEN I WAS 16!! I used it as a stepping stone to get a better job, and then a better job and so on. This is truly pathetic!!

Hey kids – Hey Everyone – It’s Tommy and for today’s TommyLog, I need to tell you something that’s not easy to share. Last week I was laid off at work. It was a low work situation and I was sacrificed for the good of the other workers. I understand it’s a business decision and I have to move on. I have utmost respect for that decision and I will miss my coworkers dearly. They were my work family and I really enjoyed each and everyone of them.

TommyLog – We Are Going Another Direction
A few days of wins and one pretty big loss. In the grand scheme, not a huge deal, but you have hope and it didn’t happen. I had spent the last 10 months working with a music related internet start-up in Milwaukee. I was their community manager and did it on the side. I loved the people I worked with. You help build buzz for an idea almost from the start with hopes of watching it bud into a HUGE enterprise. So many awesome people and just like that… “We Are Going Another Direction.” There was a bit of appreciation for what I had done, I need to be fair, but no goodbye’s– nothing. Just changed passwords within minutes and then BOOM…

There is a chance I could go back, but not counting on that at all.. I was told 3 weeks to a few months but now I’m not sure who to trust anymore…

IT’S HAPPENING!! 2 Weeks Notice
Today after lots of soul searching, talking with friends and prayer, I put in my 2 weeks notice at the place I have worked for fourteen and a half years. Leaving my friends I have made there is not a move I take lightly, but this move is just the BEST move for me and my family. The ability to move from a HUGE printer to a much smaller one just makes sense. The ability to grow and to spread my wings and grow, its whats needed at this time. Today was a monumental day for me and one I need to share. I’m sorry for being such a sap, but you know how soft I can be and this is no exception.
