Hey kids, for today’s TommyLog Tech, I need to start with a story. It takes place about 4 years ago… The place is downtown Chicago. I was there attending a print related convention and it was almost dinner time. Hey Kids it’s Tommy and for today’s Tommy log Tech, I want to talk to you about a great app I stumbled upon when poking around on my brand-new Samsung Galaxy S7 edge smart phone – – provided to me by my great friends of Verizon, my opinions on my own.

I love living in North East Wisconsin where we have 4 beautiful seasons. Along with those awesome seasons comes some not so great extreme weather. Floods, blizzards, severe thunderstorms even an occasional tornado or 2 can be the order of the day. Thanks to my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 from Verizon along with 2 great free apps, severe weather doesn’t catch me by surprise.

Do you remember those over-sized, folded maps of days gone by? When was the last time you actually unfolded one? Traveling has gotten so much easier with the advent of GPS. The tool I think I use almost every day to help me navigate is a app called Waze by Google. Using Waze on my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 with the 5.7″ screen is just a dream come true. The huge screen makes navigation just a breeze.

Staying organized in this day and age is so important! The one tool that I just love to use to keep myself digitally organized is Evernote. Using Evernote on my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is just such a pleasure. One reason is the huge screen for taking down notes and making notations. Evernote is just so multi platform. You can find Evernote for your desktop machine, Mac or PC as well as ever smartphone flavor out there, Android, IOS, Windows Mobile as well as Blackberry.
