X-Men are Marvel Comics that were created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. The movies were directed by Bryan Singer. In this Marvel Universe mutants (superhuman people) exist. They aren't bit by spiders or exposed to gamma rays like those in other Marvel comics. These mutants were born with superhuman abilities. When mutants are discovered in the world they aren't normally accepted and that's where the X-Men come in. Charles Xavier (the leader) recruits these mutants at a young age to teach them and get them comfortable with their powers. Of course there is always a good versus evil complex. The X-Men have to fight for peace and equality not only between humans and mutants but against other mutants who want to just rid the Earth of humans.
