Deadpool: Colossus Was Created Using 5 Different Actors | Collider
When cameras began rolling on Deadpool, then still a risky R-rated superhero bet on 20th Century Fox's part, fans were curious to see how closely the film would be tied to the X-Men universe. We got our answer pretty quickly in the form of cast additions Negasonic Teenage Warhead and, most strikingly, Colossus. But with this new, entirely CG iteration of Colossus in Deadpool, how exactly was the character brought to life?

Colossus (X-Men)
Piotr "Peter" Rasputin was born on a Soviet collective farm called the Ust-Ordynski Collective near Lake Baikal in Siberia. He lived there with his mother Alexandra, father Nikolai, and sister, Illyana. His older brother, Mikhail, had been a Russian cosmonaut and had apparently died in a rocket accident (the 2006 comic mini-series Colossus: Bloodline established that the family was descended from a real-life historical figure Grigori Rasputin).

DEADPOOL'S VFX TEAM MADE COLOSSUS USING SHINY BALLS ON STICKS
UNLIKE MOST CGI characters created using motion capture, Colossus is shiny. Like, Studio-54-disco-ball shiny. His skin is also super reflective, meaning that to look real light needs to bounce off of him just like it would if he was an actual mirror standing in each scene.
