Welcome to Brew House No 16, Mount Vernon’s first firehouse after Great Baltimore’s Fire of 1904. Our family and staff love pairing our housemade craft beers with these delicious starters and meals. All our food is made-from-scratch with the highest quality ingredients, in our open kitchen. We invite you to nestle into our casual and lively fire station, enjoy our brewmaster and son, Ian Hummel’s flavorful beer-making skills, with the meal of your choice.

Our History
In October 2013, the Hummel came together to work towards the grand opening of a Firehouse Brewpub. In 2015, Brew House No. 16, a re-invention of the firehouse’s towering interior as a warm and welcoming restaurant and microbrewery came to life. Brew House No. 16 welcomes neighborhood regulars, Center Stage playgoers, foodies and beer lovers from all over Baltimore and the world for the head brewer's handcrafted beer paired with our firehouse pub fare. Under the sign of the bee – Hummel means bumblebee in German – we welcome you to come and join us in our casual and lively brewery.
