Zachary and Erika Shumaker were both born and raised in the greater Pittsburgh area. After graduation Zach spent two years at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania before taking a hiatus to serve in the Marine Corps. He spent four years in San Diego California working in a helicopter squadron. During that timeframe he fell in love with craft beer and decided to get a part time job at Stone Brewing Company. He returned home in February 2008 and immediately knew it was his purpose in life to bring a west-coast ale type experience to western Pennsylvania.
