Uncle Billy’s Brewery and Smokehouse is located in the heart of Austin’s funkiest restaurant row on Barton Spring’s Road. Founded in 2006, Uncle Billy’s was named for Texas settler, William “Uncle Billy” Barton, who established a homestead on the land on the west bank of the Colorado River and the mouth of Spring Creek, the location that is now home to Barton Springs Pool. The name was chosen as a reflection of Barton’s independent spirit, and the laid-back vibe of Austin and in particular the brewpub’s neighborhood that includes Barton Springs Pool, Zilker Park and Lady Bird Lake. Uncle Billy’s offers the perfect combination of award-winning, craft beers and delicious, slow-smoked Texas barbeque served in a relaxed setting with a huge outdoor patio with live music.

The name was chosen as a reflection of Barton’s independent spirit, and the laid-back vibe of Austin. We’ve come to think of Uncle Billy as the “Patron Saint of Chill.” He’s our spiritual guide. When we need new inspiration for a beer recipe or anything else, we just take a long draw on our brew and think to ourselves, “What would Uncle Billy do?” The answer is always, “kick back with another beer.”
